Hunting news – Reality TV reaches the shooting world

First there was Big Brother.  Then there was Celebrity Love Island.  And now TV gurus are planning their next telly coup by announcing they plan to create a hunting themed reality TV series.

The show has been devised by the World Hunting Association (WHA) and is intended to remove some of the stigma attached to shooting whilst simultaneously bringing the sport to the attention of the masses.

Anybody who fancies themselves as the next reality TV star is being asked to submit a five minute video clip to the WHA website explaining why they should be the one to grace our screens.

Thousands of entries are expected from members of the hunting and shooting fraternity and visitors to the site will be asked to pick their favourite contestant.  The public vote will whittle the hopefuls down to a top ten (five men and five women) and professional members of the WHA will then pick two to compete head-to-head in front of a television audience.

The winner of the revolutionary show will be awarded a prestigious one year professional contract with the World Hunting Association and will undoubtedly become a celebrity within the shooting world.

What exactly the reality TV programme will involve has been kept tightly under wraps but it is predicted that a series of challenges including stalking, survival and shooting with both shotguns and rifles will feature.

Anybody interested in taking part in the reality TV series is being asked to log onto www.worldhunt.com and submit their video clip before March 1st.  Public voting is set to begin several days later and those selected to compete for the crown of reality television’s king of hunting and shooting are expected to be selected by the end of March.
